Reducing your Carbon Footprint

I was reading this week's Time magazine (I love Time, my last few posts are all Time related) and came across an AWESOME site for those of us trying to live a little greener.

Carbon Rally is a site that allows you to gauge the size of your personal carbon footprint. It then offers specific challenges for you to meet in order to begin reducing said footprint. You can actually form a team and compete with other teams to see who can become the most earth-friendly. As you meet certain challenges, you can see exactly how much CO2 you have conserved. For example, this week's challenge is to dry some clothes on a clothesline instead of using the dryer. If you line dry one load of laundry per week for one month, you will save 18.8 pounds of CO2 emissions.

Check it out!

  1. I have been wanting a clothesline for quite a while now--this may just push me over the edge--for heavens sakes, we live in the sunniest state--there is no excuse!! I will get a clothesline--I will accept the challenge!! I love the smell of "sundried" sheets!!
