Not so many Sun Breaks in this Rainy City
It's spring and it's cold. Still. Colder than most other Seattle springs. It's raining and gray like an ash tray. The famous Northwest tulips are blooming at least 2 weeks later than usual due to the frigid weather (so are the flowering plum trees - see previous post!) . I am SO ready for consistent sunshine. My soul actually feels gray today.
OK, just venting.
On a happy note, my little niece is coming to visit tomorrow...She's bringing her mom (my sister) and her grandma (my mom). This means lots of shirking responsibility and eating out. As cold as I think it is, my California relatives are going to freeze their little ***** off. Whenever our families visit, they consistently comment on how cold it is here. They bring their fuzzy socks and parkas and umbrellas (a true sign you are not from Seattle) and ask, "Is your furnace working?" Before we moved here, we thought a cold day meant weather in the 60's. Now, we rejoice and break our flip flops at 51 degrees.
Amazing how our very blood has changed.

ReplyDeleteI would die, literally, die. I think that it is in the mid-60's here and I am very cold. Very.
